Marco Zanini was born in Trento. He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence and furthered his studies in the USA. He began his collaboration with Ettore Sottsass in Milan in 1977. In 1981 he was one of the founders of the Memphis group, for which he designed and realised collections exhibited in major museums and galleries worldwide. On behalf of Sottsass Associati, he has directly contributed as design manager to the realisation of numerous projects, including exhibition spaces and creations in the field of industrial design and interior architecture, for a large and varied international clientele.
