The collection

An exploration at the boundary between architecture and design, Merlate, presented in 2024, consists of various vases distinguished by irregular forms. While the name evokes the battlements of medieval towers, the shapes draw inspiration from architectural elements typical of industrial construction. Each vase is conceived as a micro-architecture, reflecting the complexity of structural forms.

The design fuses sculptural and material elements, alternating solid and void spaces to create visual tension. The edges, finished in contrasting colors compared to the base, enhance the composition’s visual impact, giving it a strong graphic presence. Crafted using the slip-casting technique in white clay, the vases are finished in color combinations such as burgundy and wisteria, lemon yellow and mint green, orange and blue, cream and light violet.
