Its mission is closely connected to art ceramics, as evidence of the craftsmanship and know-how that created the Made in Italy brand and spread it throughout the world.

The Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation houses the extraordinary collection of documents and ceramics from the Bitossi Archive. Established in 2008 at the initiative of the family, it is dedicated to Vittoriano Bitossi — Cavaliere del Lavoro, entrepreneur, patron, and promoter of cultural initiatives aimed at the study and dissemination of ceramic culture.

The Foundation is located in the very first company building, commissioned by Guido Bitossi in 1929. The paper archive of the Bitossi Industrial Archive is located on the first floor, while the ceramics are displayed in the rooms of the historic factory, which have been preserved in their original condition and today stand as a remarkable example of industrial archaeology, as well as a testament to a century of ceramic artistry.

In addition to its core archival work of recovering, cataloguing, and preserving historical heritage, the Foundation provides support and consultancy to scholars, researchers, and collectors. It also collaborates on cultural initiatives promoted by public and private institutions internationally, participating in exhibitions, conferences, and publications focused on the history of ceramics and ceramic design.

The archive and museum were opened to the public in 2021, on the occasion of the centenary of the Bitossi manufactory. The visitor experience is the result of the musealization of the Industrial Archive, which has been declared of significant historical interest by the Archival Superintendency for Tuscany. The Archive Museum is part of the Museimpresa network.
