Ettore Sottsass

Ettore Sottsass was one of the masters of twentieth-century Italian design. An architect, designer, photographer, and writer, in 1958 he began a collaboration with Olivetti as a design consultant, creating the first Italian electronic calculator.

In 1980 he founded the Sottsass Associati studio, from which the Memphis movement emerged, destined to revolutionize the world of design. His works are part of the permanent collections of the most important museums around the world

Starting in 1955, Ettore Sottsass designed several collections for the American importer Irving Richard of the Raymor Company in New York. Frequently exhibited at the Il Sestante Gallery in Milan, these collections are still produced and distributed by Bitossi today.
